Jim Brulte harms California GOP with a far-left concept

John and Ken of KFI interviewed California GOP Chairman Jim Brulte today at the GOP Convention. I only heard the last part, but Brulte ended by saying that the GOP could win in California if, among other things, they nominated candidates who "looked like their communities." Needless to say, John and Ken bid him a fond farewell right after that without walking Brulte through the impacts of his racial policy.

First, that means the CA GOP could only nominate - or would at least strongly favor - blacks in majority black districts, Asians in majority Asian districts, and Hispanics in majority Hispanic districts. In majority white districts - like large swaths of California away from the coasts, the GOP would have to strongly favor whites if they wanted to be consistent with their policy. Needless to say, they wouldn't when it comes to white districts for fear of appearing racist. The rules they'd apply in majority non-white districts are just as racist.

Second, the concept of "vote your race" is from the cultural far-left. For a party oriented towards what's good for business and what keeps the donations coming in that doesn't matter that much. Except, the CA GOP will keep losing if it endorses rather than fights cultural far-left concepts. Those who oppose the cultural far-left need a champion, but the California would throw them under the bus. So, they'll lose votes from that group. At the same time, no matter how echt a Candidate of Color the CA GOP pushes, the Democratic Party will always be able to find someone more echt. Democratic proxies will imply or explicitly call the GOP choice names like "Oreo", "Uncle Tom", or "Uncle Tito" and the Dems will offer up a candidate who appeals to those who vote their race.

If the goal of the CA GOP is to win, then supporting far-left concepts isn't the way to do things. Unless, of course, the goal is simply to run in order to bring in donations, to help get a radio show, to move to Minneapolis, etc. etc.

Please tweet @CAGOP with your thoughts. And also suggest that @JohnAndKenShow do their jobs and challenge those like Brulte on their far-left cultural concepts.
