Hidden details of Ramos/Compean case; sealed evidence

This site occasionally tries to have an introductory paragraph for new readers. Other sites do things differently. So, there might be interesting background here about the case of the two Border Patrol agents (Ramos and Compean) who appear to have been railroaded by their own government, but I didn't bother to read it through to see exactly what that was. Nevertheless, it would seem to be required reading for those who want to support the government's view of events.

UPDATE: T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, discussed sealed evidence in the case on Lou Dobbs' show. He doesn't know what it consists of, but:

"Well, some of the information goes to the sealed indictment regarding the second load of marijuana, of about a thousand pounds of marijuana. DEA agents were involved in that arrest. And there were other people who were called as witnesses for the defense but not allowed to testify."

The brutal treatment of Ramos and Campean by the Federal Government reminds me of how differently the Feds acted when they went to great lengths to protect FBI Ruby Ridge killer Lon Horiuchi from prosecution. The article at the second link does not name Horiuchi, but describes him thusly:"...an FBI agent shot and wounded Randy Weaver. A few moments later, the same agent shot Weaver's wife in the head as she was standing in the doorway of her home holding a baby in her arms."

I would like to know more about Rene Sanchez, the BP officer whose mother-in-law knows the drug smuggler's mother. How do these two women know each other, and why did she feel Sanchez would be receptive to a report (a month later) of a "rogue" shooting?

I don't know how Ramos & Compean could have had an adequate defense without allowign evidence from the second arrest of the smuggling suspect, were weapons found? Did the smuggler have an armed escort? Or did he transport the million plus load of drugs across the border unarmed & alone?

I hope this leads to impeachment of both Bush & Gonzalez.
