"Meatpacking raids: A victim's story" (Swift, identity theft)

Surprisingly, MSNBC offers this:
Theresa Sanchez was expecting a $5,400 tax refund when she opened a letter from the IRS in January 2003. Instead, she got a bill demanding payment of taxes on $120,000 in undeclared wages. Someone using her name and Social Security number had earned the money through a series of jobs dating back to 1996 and had not paid any taxes on the income, the letter said.

Sanchez complained to the agency and to the Federal Trade Commission that her identity had been stolen, and was being used by someone to gain employment. Nonetheless, more than two years later, in April 2005, a woman walked into the Swift & Co. meatpacking plant in Greeley, Colo., and used Theresa Sanchez's name and Social Security number to get a job...
More on these victims here, here, here, here, and here.

And the government pretends that illegal immigration, even that involving identity theft, is not felonious

Posted by: John S Bolton at December 14, 2006 01:09 AM

The Government ( read gang members inside the so called U.S. congress ) cares nothing about you; it cares nothing about the illegals it only cares about the North American Union.
"We have had our nation stolen from us all", this story points out only one thing and that is we will see this used to attack us in many ways we can't think of right now. but also understand ID Theft has been going on now for 20 years and no-one inside this so called government has done one thing to stop it, so why is this happening? read Alex Jones, Its a setup to go after you in the coming hell that is becoming the USA.

THINK FREE BUT GUNS.

MSNBC will write about this victim because she' Hispanic, thereby neutralizing the "racist" allegations against anyone who is against illegal immigration.

Great job, MSNBC. Do a story like this everyday. Great job DHS. Do a raid like this everyday. Greely, CO., stop sniveling. So Al Capones little fish won't be spending their money in your stores this Christmas? Too bad, so sad. You were part of the problem with crime in America by ignoring/supporting a criminal endeavor. Zero sympathy. And by the way, all those children of illegals are DUAL citizens. Feel free to deport the entire extended family. Each of those criminals probably had five family members, encourage them all to stick together...in mexico. Don't come back.

A lot of truth in your observation, to be sure. Although one would really expect all (true) classic ID theft victims in a case like this to be Hispanic, as most of the ID thieves no doubt are as well.
