Lead by Eric Garcetti, the Los Angeles City Council has approved a resolution opposing "anti-migrant vigilantes" and supporting "immigration reform", i.e., a massive amnesty:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, with the concurrence of the Mayor, that by the adoption of this Resolution, the City of Los Angeles hereby includes in its 2005-2006 State and Federal Legislative Program support for any legislation which 1. denounces the vigilante actions of private individuals or groups along the border and entering our urban communities to engage presumably in civilian patrol initiatives to assist the federal government in enforcing the immigration laws; 2. prohibits or otherwise hinders any vigilante type civilian action resulting in spying on others or sharing information with law enforcement officers and fosters the view that each and every person who is present within the city, county, and state, are presumptively here lawfully as citizen, legal resident, or visitor with appropriate documentation; and 3. enacts comprehensive immigration reform that combines a path to permanent status for immigrants here and wider legal channels for those coming in the future with humane and effective enforcement.
What's interesting is that they seem to have lifted language and concepts from an earlier resolution by - guess! - the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

In Norway they were called Quislings, in France Vichy, and in Los Angles?

The cash economy is wrecking CA outside of LA as well. I worked for an Asian until he handed me a bag of cash and said, let's do it this way to avoid taxes. One, I'm a citizen and would get caught by the IRS whereas he isn't, and won't. Two, how long do you think it would before the Asian gang invaded my house to steal my cash?
Basically, now the major employers are the Government and the cash economy. IOW a Third World economic setup.

I just came across this stupid site that is completely anti-immigrant and bigoted site. This used to be Mexican land and isn't it ironic that you're kicking us out!? If we're illegal what does that make you? Your fore fathers were illegals than? They came on a boat as several Asians do. They come her to work and make a better life for themselves and their families. Republican and conservartive assholes say we take your jobs but I want to see you guys working in the hot sun for 14 hours for only 6 bucks. Are you willing to do that? I didn't think so.

Gustavo,
If Mexico would stop exporting its poverty and wages were not dropping like rocks due to cheap unskilled labor you would see citizens working in the hot sun for 14 hours a day. Mexico is a resource rich country with an astronomically wealthy aristocracy and it may confound you but I for one, do not wish to provide caviar and champagne for that artistocracy so that they can continue to resist the reforms that every corrupt Mexican president runs on, subsequently refuses to implement and then retires wealthy after plundering the Mexican coffers once again. We have an immigration system here and the United States and Mexico happen to be two seperate countries. Maybe Mexicans should try reforming their own country instead of overwhelming ours. Other countries and their corrupt systems are not MY problem.
