A couple who worked at the Virginia DMV were recently arrested for giving out driver's licenses to illegal aliens. Details in "Virginia DMV official, wife held" or "Driver's license fraud alleged".
Note the quote from a U.S. Attorney:
"We must aggressively safeguard our identification systems. The integrity of state driver's licenses is critical to our commerce as well as our national security."
Gil Cedillo has apparently not got the word.

They're the ones accused of selling DLs to illegals.
Let's assume, for the sake of discussion, that it really isn't in the best interest of the US to have any illegal who can come up with the money getting a DL (think de facto national ID, 9/11, etc). In this context, wondering whether this is another case of ethnicity trumping law & order, or just plain greedy grubbing, is left as an exercise.
