Gil Cedillo, driver's licenses for illegal aliens, Part 48310

The latest attempt from CA Sen. Gil Cedillo (Democrat - Los Angeles, Mexico) to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens has passed a Senate committee. It now goes to the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Note that this current bill is good ol' SB 60, which is distinct from SB 591. That latter bill is described here, and it gives illegal aliens - and only illegal aliens - a pass on the impound period when caught driving without a license.

The AP reports in "Senate panel passes bill to extend licenses to illegal immigrants".

I believe at this point in time it's important to ask yet again: what country does Gil Cedillo really represent? Can anyone say with absolute certainty that he represents the U.S.?

WHY DO WE CONSTANTLY HAVE TO FIGHT THESE MEXICO SUPPORTING LIBERALS THAT WE DON'T WANT ILLEGALS OR UNDOCUMENTED PEOPLE HERE UNLESS THEY COME HERE LEGALLY AND TAKE THE STEPS NEEDED TO BECOME LEGALS, THEN THEY ARE INTITLED TO WHAT US CITIZENS HAVE. WHY SHOULD AN ILLEGAL HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE IF THEIR NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE, DRIVING IS NOT A RIGHT ,IT'S A PRIVILAGE EARNED BY PASSING A TEST, SHOWING THEY READ AND UNDERSTAND OUR RULES AND LAWS, HAVING A CLEAN RECORD, NOT OWING CHILD SUPPORT AND PROOF OF INSURANCE. HELLO,,,,, A PERSON DOESNT PAY HIS CHILD SUPPORT AND GETS HIS DRIVING LICENSE TAKEN AWAY, BUT AN ILLEGAL PERSON CAN GET A LICENSE, WHERE IS THE SENCE IN THAT. ILLEGALS COME HERE, HAVE A KID AND EXPECT THAT THEY SHOULD BE HONORARY MEMBERS OF USA AND NOT HAVE TO BE DEPORTED BACK. WHEN I BREAK THE LAW, IM TRIED,CONVICTED AND SENT TO PRISON.JAIL. MY KIDS ARE TAKEN TO FOSTER CARE AND I PAY MY DUES. WELL, IF ILLEGALS ARE HANDLED THE SAME WAY, MAYBE THE WORD WOULD GET OUT THAT HAVING A KID IN USA DOES NOT KEEP YOU HERE OR GIVE YOU A PRIVLEGE OF A DRIVERS LICENSE. ENTER USA LEGALLY AND EARN THE RIGHTS YOU WANT LIKE THE REST OF US.

"represents the U.S.?"

It is possible he sincerely believes he does.

However, it is also plain to see that a lot of his (taxpayer funded) activity is specifically aimed to benefit people here illegally -- foreigners. And that can most certainly be legitimately questioned.
