This is a short-sighted column. The McCain/Kennedy/Kolbe/Flake/Gutierrez proposal is directed primarily at unskilled and lowskilled immigrant labor. Only those who squandered the potpourri of K-12 and post-graduate educational opportunities available to all in the U.S. would be adversely affected. Those who wish higher wages should consider investing in obtaining marketable job skills. Don't blame immigrants if you fail to take advantage of the many blessings available to those growing up in the USA.

The fact is that race influences politics, society, and culture. The great explorations, scientific discoveries, inventions, literature, art, and architecture encompassed by Western Civilization have no rival anywhere in the world. European Christian heritage is essential for the survival of our standard of living and way of life. There is no superior replacement for the civilization that has evolved through the Greeks, Romans, Celts, and Anglo-Saxons.
