I guess there are two issues here, at least that come to my mind:
1. The duplicity about the funding;
2. Brock's actual work, or the content of the blogs ("paid" or not).
The first is pretty clearcut; about the only mitigating thing I can think to say is...Who's business is it, anyway?
But regarding the second, I sometimes have the impression that this sort of thing is pumped to (somehow, I'm not sure how) discredit arguments or positions without having to, you know, actually refute them.
Speaking about Horowitz, and having seen his modus operandi, I definitely believe this to be the case.
But I think I'll still manage to separate the two, regardless of who's involved.
