The Northeastern-liberal-news-media don't-have-a-clue poll

The latest in a series of polls conducated by the NYT and CBS shows that Bush is (duh) out of step with America: "New Poll Finds Bush Priorities Are Out of Step With Americans".

If you download the full PDF of the poll, you'll see two things:

1. The word "immigration" appears nowhere in the document, and
2. The question "What do you think is the most important problem facing this country today?" generates single-digit percentages to 24 different choices ranging from the important to the not-so-important such as the heating oil crisis. However, the "Other" choice stands at 17 percent, and was only below 10 percent once and has ranged as high as 25 percent.

Now, when fully one quarter of the people answering your question can't answer that question using a choice you provide, shouldn't that indicate that you should provide more choices?

It's beyond obvious, but: both Bush and the NYT/CBS are out of touch. Out of that large "Other" percentage some will say immigration matters, and some will say other things, but I'd certainly like to see an enumeration of those items and I'd suggest the NYT/CBS expand their list of what's important.

Comments

It should be obvious by now that mass immigration is more of a threat to America and the nation it is now than millions of "terrorists" over in Afghanistan, Iraq, or wherever. But it should also be obvious that many Bush supporters aren't big on taking in facts and reasoning from them. If anything, they are worse than he his, and that's saying something.
