Gray and Friends

Why, look! It's hopefully-soon-to-be-former governor Gray Davis with his friends the President of the U.S. and Sparky, the "Please wait" mascot for the CA ISO!

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Gray's TV commercials have factual inaccuracies. If you want to read a few of them, KCET's Life and Times did a "Reality Check" of some of the statements made in one of his commercials, as you can see by searching for "VAL>> PHEW" here.

Can you imagine what I could do if I had Photoshop and hadn't had to put this together using paint.exe?
Don't you hate it when pages take so long to load, especially for crap pics like this?
OK, so Sparky's not exactly a well-known figure, unless, like me, you've written software for the exciting energy generation and distribution industry. If you want to see Sparky live, go to http://oasis.caiso.com/, click the Ancillary tab, click the upper left radio button in the table, and click submit. If you get an error, adjust the dates. I'll explain PORs and PODs at our next meeting.
